Mrs. Clare Wood Raymond, aged 31, died at 9:30 o'clock Friday morning at her home, 931 1/2 Liberty street, after an illness of two weeks with intestinal trouble. Her condition had been serious for only a week. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Burton Wood, born near Utica January 15, 1885.
After attending the Edinboro Norman School, she was married April 18, 1906 and lived in Franklin for almost four years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church and an active worker in the Sunday School, being president of W. O. Milton's Bible Class. She was greatly interested in temperance work and was secretary of the Willard WCTU. She exerted influence for good in the circle in which she moved and her untimely death is a sad loss to her friends.
She married Howard P. Raymond, who survives, with her parents; two children, Evan Howard and Lois; brothers and sisters, Ralph, near Polk, and Adah, Bertha, Nellie and Braden, at home near Polk.
Services will be at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon with Rev. Dr. James Albert Patterson officiating. Interment will be in Franklin cemetery.
