He was born on February 12, 1940 in Haskell to G. W. Roberts and Doris Marie Banks Roberts. Mr. Roberts served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1958. He then married Barbara Nell Warrell on June 11, 1959 in Haskell. He enjoyed fishing and baseball where he helped to coach his son's little league teams. He also enjoyed helping his daughter in Girl Scouts, woodworking and farming.
Mr. Roberts was employed by Koch Oil Company for 22 years and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara of the home; one daughter, Tammy Jean McMillan of San Angelo; one son, Jimmy Ray and wife JoNell Roberts of Haskell; one grandchild, Alexa Ray Roberts of Haskell; his mother, Doris Marie Roberts of Haskell; one sister, Doris Jean McMeans of Haskell; and one brother, Albert Lee Roberts of Haskell.
Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his father, and one sister Alta Mae Roberts.
