Lyle J. Albrecht, 79 of Bay Port, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.
Born on March 19, 1935 at his parent's family farm in Bay Port, he was the son of Mose and Mary (Gunden) Albrecht. He attended Kilmanagh Schools and graduated in 1953 from Pigeon High School. On May 6, 1961 he was united in marriage to Alice M. Hoffman in Pigeon.
In his earlier years, Lyle enjoyed playing all sports, especially fast pitch softball. He enjoyed watching both professional as well as collegiate sports, but especially enjoyed watching his family play all of their sports. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and especially loved spending time with his family. His family was very important to him.
Lyle was a member of Michigan Avenue Mennonite Church, Pigeon.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Albrecht; children, Starla and KevinMcKenzie and Barry and Cheryl Albrecht; granddaughters, Brittany (Ricky) Carter, Caitlin Eigsti, Erin Albrecht, and Ashlyn Albrecht; step great-granddaughter, Jaelynn; brother, John Albrecht of Pigeon; sister, Doris Albrecht of Pigeon; in-laws, Helen Ruby and Ethel and John Dale Gunden; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Connor Eigsti; brother, Melvin Albrecht; and an infant brother and sister.
Burial in Michigan Avenue Mennonite Church cemetery.
