Eugene "Gene" Steenblock passed away in Lodi on November 25, 2013 at the age of 83. Born in Ashley, ND to Martin and Dorthea Steenblock, he has lived the past 75 years in Lodi. He served his country honorably in the US Navy, and worked for 35 years as a truck driver and member of the Teamsters Union. Gene loved playing golf – even scoring a hole-in-one, enjoyed fishing , and was a member of the Dakota Club and Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years Carol Steenblock of Lodi; sons: Roger Steenblock of Mountain View, Ronald (Anne) Steenblock of Galt; step-children: Leslie D. (Dean) Hane of Lodi, Vicki Gotelli (Patrick) of Stockton; grandchildren: Wesley Steenblock, Alisa Van Foeken; step-grandchildren: Samuel and Adam Gotelli; and a great-grandchild Kolten VanFoeken; sister Judy Marquardt of Lodi, brother Ted Steenblock of TX, and a brother-in-law Walt Williams of Modesto. He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 and Harney Ln, Lodi CA. Visitation will take place from 4-8 pm on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi, CA
