Eber Compton and Angeline Fry married 19 Jun 1829 in Giles Co., TN. They had twelve children in all, with 6 of them having died either in infancy (2 sons and 2 daughters) or early childhood (Manerva Jane and Sarah A.)

Eber moved his family in 1858 to Greene County, MO, where other branches of the family had already moved in 1853.

Their daughter, Margaret E. Compton had married Spencer B (S.B.) Dickerson abt. 1851 in Giles County. They had the infant daughter and two sons, who grew to adulthood.

In 1861, due to the turmoil of the impending Civil War, Eber moved again with his extended family, along with many other family groups to Texas. Eber settled in the Forest Grove community of Collin Co., where he and Angie died and are buried.
