Mary Alice Hartless Hamilton, 74, of Buena Vista, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at her home.

Born Nov. 4, 1940, in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Jake Atley Southers and Alice Virginia Hartless Chittum.

Mrs. Hamilton was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Surviving are her husband, Edward Mack “Tommy” Hamilton of Buena Vista; four children, Karen Campbell and Thomas Hamilton, both of Natural Bridge, Larry Hamilton of Buena Vista, and Melissa Tarpley of Ruckersville; three siblings, Carl Chittum of Natural Bridge, Mildred Feltner of Buena Vista and Nadell Dolan of Chester; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home with the Rev. Dean Staton and Bishop Huntsman officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at the funeral home.
