The funeral service of Ed M. Johnson, editor of the Phenix-Girard, Ala., Journal and who was interested also in a newspaper at Headland, Ala., were held from the family residence at 337 Front street this morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by E. A. Childs, pastor of the Girard Methodist church, and long time friend of the family.
Out-of-the-city relatives attending the services were the three married daughters of the deceased, Mrs. W. J. Ogburn, of Tarboro, N.C., Mrs. Eva Haynes, of Headland, Ala., and Mrs. P. H. Aman, of Montgomery, Ala., who were with him during the last days of his life and at the time of his death yesterday morning at 11 o'clock; also his niece, Mrs. Mayo and nephew, Mrs. Roberts, of Montgomery, Ala. Interment was in Girard cemetery and the following acted as pallbearers; I. I. Moses, J. E. Martin, T. S. Roberts, A. B. Brown, P. Y. M. Crapps and H. L. Watkins. per: Lois Goodin Hottinger
