Grace Smith Meriage, age 91, passed away Monday, April 17, 2006. She was born December 3, 1914 to Fred E. Perry and Annie Holder in Lytton Springs, Texas and later moved to Creedmoor, Texas.

Grace worked at E. M. Scarbrough and Sons at 5th and Congress for several years and later was employed at the LCRA in the Treasury Department where she retired December 31, 1984 after 38 years of service.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Gilbert Smith (1986) and Larry Meriage (1999); brothers, Eldred Perry and wife Lonnie, Fred Perry Jr., Leonard Perry and wife Bertie; sisters, Hazel Lock and husband Cecil, Ethel Irvine and husband Wally; and nephews Randy Wallin and Lee Eastburn.

She is survived by a sister, Geraldine Stone; niece, Sabrina Wallin; two nephews, Brandon and Robb Wallin; sister-in-law, Beverly Perry; niece, Joyce Eastburn and husband Leroy and son Steven; step-daughter, Vashti McNeill and husband Russ and daughter Tricia; step-son, Mike Meriage and wife Marilyn and daughters Michelle and Monica and son Matthew. She is also survived by other nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 20th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. The funeral will be held in the Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2006 with Reverend John McMullen officiating. Burial will follow at Austin Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Gene Bartholomew, Brandon Wallin, Woody Woodward, Frank Netherton, Patrick Terry and Doyle Collier.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Dr. Paul Stoufflet and Dr. Michael Watkins for their understanding and great care for Grace.

Our very special thanks to Martha Martinez, Olivia Martinez and Dolores Garcia for their loving and devoted care for the past 9 years.
