Obituary for Willard Morris
Willard "Bill" Vinson Morris, Jr., 82 of 10 Greystone Lane Cartersville, died Sunday, July 29, 2007 in Floyd Medical Center of Rome. Born in Birmingham, Alabam, he was the son of the late Virginia Morris Samples and the late Willard V. Morris, Sr. He was raised in Newton, Georgia and spent his later years in Atlanta.

Bill retired from Delta Airlines after 30 years of service. He attended Rolls Royce School in England to study engine repair. After retirement from Delta, Bill delivered truck for 10 years, retiring at 79 with many driving awards.

A member of the First Christian Church of Atlanta, he served as Deacon for 25 years. Bill also served in the Air National Guard, served as president for 16 years of Cushion Park which is owned by Delta Air Lines, was a member of American Legion Carl Boyd Post # 42, and volunteered with the American Red Cross. Bill also enjoyed cooking and was a master at preparing food.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Joyce Eaves Howren Morris; his sons and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Patti Morris of Mission Viejo, California and Paul Morris of Atlanta; his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Mike Riley of Semi Valley, California; his step-children, Connie and Steve Stewart, Derrick and Clista Howren, and Casey and Rodney Taylor; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 5, 2007 at the family's residence at 10 Greystone Lane, Cartersville with Rev. Benjamin "Butch" Tant officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bill's memory to: American Heart Association, 1101 N. Chase Pkwy., Suite 1, Marietta, GA 30067; American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 2680, North Canton, OH 44720; American Cancer Society, 2200 Century Pkwy., Atlanta, GA 30345; or American Red Cross, Coosa Valley Chapter, 320 W. Cherokee Ave., Cartersville, GA 30120.
