Janis Smith Stone, 78, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014. She was born in Wilmington, NC to the late John and Rosa Lee Smith. She was a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church. She is predeceased by her husband Charles Linwood Stone; two sisters, Blondell Abrams and Peggy Lockamy; and two brothers, Ray and Jay Smith.
She is survived by her two loving daughters, Sarah Stone and Lynn Bondoc and husband Butch; two sisters, Faydene Corbett and Mickey Turlington; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 1 P.M. Tuesday, December 16, at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel by the Rev. Fred Williams. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6 – 8 P.M.
