A, 2nd California Cavalry, at Sacramento, California, by Captain Robert Roberson, Provost Marshall, Middle District of California, December 26, 1864. At enlistment he was described as age 18 years, that he was born in Chile, South America and that he was a Farmer. Doctor Alexander Butler Nixon, Surgeon, Board of Enrollment, Middle District of California, was the Examining Surgeon of Recruit Ayers. Private Ayers mustered-out, with his company, at Camp Union, Sacramento, April 7, 1866.
