Edith Amanda Willoughby, 97, passed away on April 16, 2006. She was born June 2, 1908 in Belmont, Oklahoma to James R. and Virgie Baker. She married Oscar Willoughby on December 1, 1923. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar and son, Winford Willoughby. She is survived by two daughters, Wanda and husband Allen Ross, of Oklahoma City, and Billie Eakins and husband Richard, of Granbury Texas; daughter-in-law, Rosalie Willoughby, of Newbury Park, California; two sisters, Lena Martin and Agnes Shires, of Abernathy, Texas; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Edith was a member of Meridian Ave. Baptist Church. She lived a loving and full life and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. We would like to thank Faith Hospice and especially LaQuita Brown and all the Hospice nurses for all their help and love they have devoted to her and the family. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at Bill Merritt Funeral Home. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker, Oklahoma. Published in The Oklahoman on 4/18/2006.
