OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN) - February 21, 2004

Goshen -- Nellie "Faye" Berry, 58, Wabash, died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at Goshen General Hospital.

She was born Aug. 22, 1945, in Paintsville, Ky., to Homer Penix and Beulah Waller Penix Dutton.

She was a waitress at Mike's Little Italy for 26 years, owned and operated Lincolnville USA Restaurant from 1997 to 1999, and worked for Wal-Mart two years. She loved gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Tom Berry; her daughter, Sherry (Tony) Bryant of North Manchester; sons Sam Berry of North Manchester and Tommy (Kristi) Berry of Logansport; grandsons Buddy Hawkins of North Manchester, Ryan Stapleton of North Manchester, and Drew Berry of Logansport.

Also surviving are granddaughters Brittanie Stapleton of North Manchester, Ashvy Gore of Liberty Mills, Lacey Johnson of Yakima, Wash., Kierstin Berry of Logansport and Ashby Gore of Liberty Mills; her stepgranddaughter, Ashley Deines of Wabash; great grandchildren Hayden Hawkins and Haylee Hawkins, both of North Manchester, and brothers Homer Penix, John Dutton and Jim Dutton, and sister Hattie Dutton, all of Wabash.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Avenue Chapel, with the Revs. Cledius Holbrook and Robert McCarty officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Contributions may be made to the Marian Hoogenboon Care House of Goshen, Ind.
