Obituary for Frances Holly Dumler
Frances Holly Dumler
December 23, 1921-September 26, 2013

Fran passed away suddenly September 26 of a stroke.

She was born to Frank and Hazel Komma in their sod homesteader house northeast of Nunn, CO, on Dec. 23rd, 1921, the 6th of 14 children. She excelled in school, and skipped a grade two different times to give her an adequate learning challenge. After High School, she attained a one-year Business degree, and went to work for Jerome Company, a Greeley wholesaler. She met her husband-to-be, Paul Dumler, while bowling. They married Aug.8, 1948, and continued to enjoy bowling for much of the rest of their lives. They had four children together. Once the children were somewhat independent, Fran wanted to go back to work. She was a great help to Sorensen Surge Dairy Sales for many years. Her Komma family was always having some sort of get-together, and her boss, Bud Sorensen, asked her every Monday which family reunion she had gone to that weekend.

Her grandchildren came later in her life than she would have preferred, and she was extremely pleased and proud to have them, and loved to see them.

After her husband Paul passed away (they had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary), Fran kept active, especially in her church, St. Paul’s Congregational, where her positive and kind attitude and moderate and forgiving politics made her a much respected and consulted person. Her family, her congregation and her circle of friends will all miss her goodness and kindness.

She is survived by her sisters Rose and Phyllis, brothers Harry, Donald and Thomas, sons Larry and Frank, daughters Linda and Janet, grandchildren Nicolas, Chris, Jenny, Richard, Taryn, James, Tracy, Brian and great-granddaughter Janie Ryan.

Interment at 1:30 P.M. October 1, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Garden. Services at 2:30 P.M., October 1, 2013 at St. Paul's Congregational Church with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Weld County Flood Relief Fund, c/o Allnutt Funeral Service.
