Mr. Alt was a native of Petersburg, a son of Abell and Sophrona Alt. He has been an employee of the Potomac Light and Power Company for twenty years. Six years ago he with his family moved to this section from Petersburg and located on the Giffin farm north of Romney.
Mr. Alt had been in feeble health for some time and had not worked for more than a year. He was a consistent member of the Methodist church and a faithful attendant as long as his health permitted.
The survivors are his widow, who was Miss Rosa Getz before her marriage, and three sons, Winton and Donald, at home, and Vernon, with the Navy, stationed in Washington.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. E. S. Wilson, and military rites by veterans of World War I and II were also held, Mr. Alt being a World War I veteran. Burial was in the Indian Mound cemetery. Hampshire Review
