Alice Amelia Graves was the daughter of Ansel McNiel Graves 1818 – 1902 and Aurelia E. Hough 1821 – 1897. Her known siblings were: Chauncey Grave 1844; Sarah Graves 1847; George Graves 1849; Adelbert Graves 1856; Henry Graves 1859 and Mary Graves 1862 – 1938.

On Oct. 26, 1867 Alice became the wife of Horace C. Vincent in a marriage ceremony in Bangor, Van Buren, Michigan. From this union were born the following known children: Isora May vincent 1868 – 1963; Nellie Vincent 1871; Orra Eugene 'Hovie' Vincent 1872 – 1957; Marion Vincent 1878; Aurelia Belle "Billie" Vincent 1880; Rilla B Boyce 1880; Millicent Pearl "Peach" Vincent 1884 – 1988; Delora "Dottie" Maud Vincent 1885 – 1986 and Grace M Vincent 1887.

Funeral Saturday for Mrs. Vincent, pioneer resident. Ord women died March 3rd in California at Age 87; laid to rest here. Mrs. Alice Vincent was born in New York state near Niagara Falls, August 29, 1853. She passed away March 3, 1941, at the age of 87 years, 6 months 4 days. She was married to Horace C. Vincent Oct 26, 1867 at Bangor Mich, where they lived for several ears moving to Ord to make their home in 1878. Her husband passed away February 26, 1906. She lived at Ord until about 4 years ago, when she moved to California to be near her three daughters.

The first year she made her home with her daughter Mrs. J. B. Nay and since has lived with another daughter, Mrs. A. S. Dye.

She was a devoted Christian all her life and a loving and precious mother. The Vincents nine children were born one son passing away in infancy, one son, Marion Vincent June 1, 1935 and one daughter Mrs. W. J Hather, February 7, 1936.

The surviving children are Mrs. James B. Nay, Los Angeles California, Orrie Vincent, Bayard, Nebraska, Mrs. Bert Horn, Morrill, Nebraska, Mrs. John Lanham, El Monte California, Mrs. Arthur S.Dye, Los Angeles,California and Mrs. Calvin Ball, Los Angeles California.

Mrs. Vincent not only lived to a ripe old age, but had the distinction of having a great many descendants. Besides the children mentioned above, there are 34 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren a total of 136 descendants.

The body of Mrs. Vincent arrived from California Friday and was taken to Fearson and Anderson Mortuary. Funeral services were held at the Pearson and Anderson Chapel Saturday afternoon at 2, with Rev. Marvia Long of the Ord Methodist church in charge.

Mrs Mark Toten and Mrs E. O. Carlson sang, with rs. Noll at the organ.

The pall bearers were L. H. Covert, Albert Lukesh, Ceg Huhes, George Round, Ellsworth Ball and Clayton Gilroy. Burial was made beside her husband in the Ord Cemetery.

A number of relative from a distance attended the funeral Saturday. The body was accompanied to Ord by her daughter, Mrs. John Lanhan. From Bayard came Ora Vincent and his grandson, Dave Vincent with them came Mrs. Brett Horn of Morrill. They arrived on Thursday evening and left for home Sunday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wright and Sidney Pechota drove to Ord from Omaha returning home Sunday. Also present were Mr. and Mrs. Guy Vincent of Loup City, Mr and Mrs. Clarence Bolli and Mr. and Mrs. Myron Mead of Barwell. Mrs. Lanham is visiting the house of her daughter, Mrs. Neil Petersen at present, but will also visit another daughter, Mrs. Clarence Bolli of Burwell and other relatives before returning to California. She will be here three or four weeks.
