YANCEY, Joyce Bauer Born August 7, 1916 in Sacramento died peacefully surrounded by her daughter, Stephanie along with care givers, Akisi and Anna on November 25, 2014. Preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Bauer of 48 years and Joel Yancey of 10 years. She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Stevie) Anderson (Charles) of Long Beach, CA and stepdaughter, Robin Yancey of Cameron Park, CA; grandchildren, Christin Anderson Snyder and Danielle Anderson Riordan (Stephen.); great grandchildren, Roxanne Snyder, Charley Snyder, Cash Riordan of Long Beach, CA and niece, Windy Castagna of New Canaan, CT. After graduating from Sacramento High School Joyce attended business college in Boston MA. Joyce, a third generation Sacramento native, was very active in community service as a long time member of the Junior League of Sacramento. She was also an active member of the Sutter Club, Del Paso Country Club, and the Valley View Country Club. Joyce loved to entertain family and friends in her Sacramento home as well as her beach home in Santa Cruz, CA. Until recently, each Summer would find Joyce working in her garden at her beloved Santa Cruz home overlooking the Ocean. A loyal and true friend to many, especially her family, she will be deeply missed. A private family service was held at East Lawn Memorial Park.
