She was born October 16, 1932, in Manila, Arkansas to Joseph Earl and Thelma (Turner) Hicks. She married Wade Armes November 4, 1950, in Hernando, Mississippi. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mountain Home.
Reatha is survived by her husband of 64 years, Wade Armes and a son Alan Armes both of Mountain Home, Arkansas, two daughters Gail Jenkins of Minooka, Illinois and Jackie (Byron) Ragains of St. Charles, Illinois, two sisters Ruby Walsh of St. Charles, Illinois and Velma (Mike) Carbonara of Woodridge, Illinois, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Reatha loved Jesus and spent the majority of her adult life serving Him faithfully. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for over 30 years. Reatha had a passion for evangelism and a highlight of her life was serving as a counselor for the Greater Chicago 1962 Billy Graham Crusade. She enjoyed flower gardening and was a fantastic cook.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 12, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Mountain Home with Dr. Tad Rogers and Dr. David Johnson officiating. A visitation will be Thursday from Noon until 9:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens Mausoleum of Faith.
