Lula Lavinia Burris Caldwell Hancock is actually buried next to her first husband James Andy Caldwell in East 2nd Addition Block 50 Lot C Space 1. James Wesley Hancock is buried next to his second wife, Jimmie Ruth Ward Hancock, in the Hancock Family Plot, East 2nd Addition Block A Space 1.

Lula L. Caldwell Hancock SLATON-Lula L. Caldwell Hancock went to be with the Lord on May 11, 2012. She was 89. A private family committal service will be 1 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2012, in Slaton's Englewood Cemetery with Glen White and Darryl White officiating. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. in Englunds Chapel under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Lula was born to Andy and Lula L. Caldwell on June 25, 1922, in Lubbock County. She was loved by her family and lived to see five generations. She enjoyed painting, music, and working in her yard, especially with her roses. She married Wesley Hancock in 1995; Wesley preceded her in death in 2005. Lula was a 1940 graduate of Slaton High School and was a lifelong resident of Slaton until moving to Ropesville in 1999. Her parents, Andy and Lula Caldwell; sisters, Johnnie Lee Wilson, Ethel Young-Cain, Edna Boatright and Dora Housour; and brothers, Ed Caldwell and Carter Caldwell, have preceded her in death too.
