Covel Glen Miller, 90, Savannah, passed from this life on Monday, December 1, 2014 at Mosaic Life Care, St. Joseph.

He was born on July 21, 1924 in Andrew County to Frank and Anna Miller.

Covel married Lola Shreve on May 31, 1952.

He was a mechanic and owned Miller’s Garage until his retirement in 1989. Covel was a CPL Korean Vet in the Army from October 27, 1950 to November 9, 1951. Covel loved growing everything in his garden and you would never see a dandelion in his yard. He was a good-hearted man who would have his moments but if he had something to say people would listen.

Survivors include his wife, Lola, of the home; two sons, Glen (Judi) Miller, Larry (Twila) Miller, both of Savannah; daughter, Carol (Don) Messerly, Edmond, Okla.; sister, Georgia Shreve; sister-in-law, Marylee Christmas, both of Savannah; seven grandchildren, Jon (Mia) Morgan, Josh Miller, Joel (Kenna) Miller, Eric (Jill) Miller, Caleb (Amy) Messerly, Zebulun Messerly, Zachariah (Kaci) Messerly; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters. Covel was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and one sister; and one great-grandson.

Celebration of Life will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2014 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah.

Public visitation and family receiving hours will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the funeral home.

Burial in Memorial Park, St. Joseph.
