A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, March 4, at the New Hope Cemetery in south Roosevelt County near Highway for Valter Lott, 67, of Roswell who passed away Friday, March, 2, 2001, at the Tobosa group home where he was living.
Valter was born Aug. 23, 1933, in Highway to Naomi and G.C. Lott.
Mr. Lott grew up in Highway. In 1942, he moved with his family to Scipio, Okla. They returned to Roosevelt County in 1958, and lived north of Portales. Since 1966, he had lived in Roswell.
He was a willing worker, helping his parents with chores until their deaths. For several years in Roswell he worked for Sheltered Work Shop manufacturing Christmas bulbs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dewey Lott and Finis Lott; and by a sister, Laura Griffith.
Survivors include one brother, William Theo Lott of Wilwalkie, Ore.; two sisters, Lillie Bennett of Lubbock and Lois Tivis of Portales; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wheeler mortuary of Portales.
