Patrick V. Egbert died Nov. 26, 2014, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born May 14, 1951, in Hutchinson, to Buford and Gertrude (Walker) Egbert. He was the former owner of Carl’s Bar, selling it to a family friend in 1984. The business remains in the family as his nephew Dan Heimerman bought the bar and was the owner up until his death in 2013. Dan’s wife, Pam, is currently the owner and manager. After selling the bar, Pat went to work as a Procurement Officer at the KSIR until his retirement in 2013. Pat married Donna Day on Dec. 29, 1978, in Hutchinson. She survives. Survivors include: his wife; sisters, Mary Ellen Schrock (Gene), and Donna Heimerman; brother, Erwin “Elmo” Schrock; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Pete, Mike and Eddie Egbert; nephews, Dan Heimerman, Darin Heimerman and Mark Schrock; and a great-nephew, Adam Egbert.

Parish Rosary will be 10 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson, with Father Ned Blick presiding. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, National Kidney Foundation or the Hutchinson Animal Shelter, all in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501
