Funeral services for Charles Timothy were held Monday, August 7 at 11 a.m. in the Glines Ward Chapel. Bishop Chad Orton officiated.
Family prayer was by Phil Timothy with the prelude and postlude music by Kathleen McKeachnie. The first musical, "In the Garden" was by Bishop Orton, Donnell Wardle, Winslow Weber and Norman Fletcher. Invocation was given by Lester Maxfield. Bishop Orton read the obituary and remarked about the deceased's life. "These Hands" was sung by Dorothy Peltier and Dawn White accompanied by Tex Ross, followed by speaker Ralph Hatch. Blaine Pierce and Dandee Smith sang "Silver Haired Daddy" accompanied by Laura Hacking. The closing speaker was Hyrum Slaugh. "I know My Heavenly Father Knows" was sung by Mac Holmes, Verdin Goodrich, Norman Haslem and Phillip Manwaring accompanied by Noreen Merrill. Benedication was pronounced by Arthur Timothy.
Interment was in the Maeser cemetery with services and burial under the direction of the Vernal Mortuary. Pallbearers were Douglas Timothy, Phil Timothy, Garn Anderson, Duane Holmes, Vern Wall and Mark Holmes. Honorary Pallbearer was Bruce Anderson. James Clark dedicated the grave site.
The Glines 1st Ward Relief Society was in charge of the lunch and floral tributes.
Charles (Charley) Timothy, 74 died at the Uintah County Hospital August 4 at 8:40 p.m. following a long illness. He was born November 26, 1903 in Vernal to Brigham Timothy & Hannah Sabey Timothy. He married Reba Maxfield, March
31, 1933 in Duchesne, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS temple.
Mr. Timothy was a member of the LDS Church in Glines 1st ward and Elder in the church.
He is survived by his widow of Vernal, two sons: Douglas Timothy and Phil Timothy both of Vernal; three daughters, Mrs LaVern (Connie) Wall, Kearns; Mrs Duane (Gaila) Holmes, Vernal, Mrs. Garn (Carolyn) Anderson, Dutch John, Utah; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
