Carl Dean Crow was born December 18, 1930 in Adair to Rola and Sarah (Breshears) Crow.

He departed this life on November 14, 2014 in Chouteau at the age of 83 years 10 months and 27 days.

He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the United States Air Force as a meteorologist. While in the service his tours included Japan, Korea, Philippines,Hawaii and Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. He received the Good Conduct Medal and Korean Service Medal.

He married Ivaughn "Rookie" Casey in August of 1952. They moved to Miami, Ok ...where Carl was an Art major at NEO A&M. Their daughter, Teresa was born in Commerce in September of 1954. Realizing it would be tough to support his new family as an artist, they moved to Tulsa in 1955, where he attended the University of Tulsa. He graduated TU with a new career in accounting. Their son, Thomas was born in Tulsa in August of 1957.

It was a career choice that worked out for him, as he became the Office Manager at Bradley Chevrolet in Broken Arrow, Ok for nearly 20 years. Ready for a change and badly needing to get out from behind a desk, he purchased Brookside Pawn in Tulsa in 1980. It was a family run business employing only Carl, his wife Rookie and their son Tom. Rookie died in the summer of 1985 and Carl and Tom carried on with the business until 1994, when they lost their lease on the building.


In 1998 Carl married Sue Ward Hill and they made their home in Chouteau.

Carl was a member of North Elliott Church of God, also Masonic Lodge in Broken Arrow, Pryor American Legion and the NRA.

Carl enjoyed being outdoors taking care of his horses, hunting, fishing and shooting. Carl's favorite thing in life was the time he got to spend with his family.

Carl is survived by wife Sue of the home, son Thomas Crow and wife Sherry of Tulsa, son Mike Hill and wife Teri of Pryor,son Steve Hill and wife Pam of Pryor.

Grandchildren Andrew, Sarah, Suanne, Kristen, Joshua, Stacey and Caleb, 12 great grandchildren, one sister Lorene Gibson of Jenks, one brother R.E. Crow of Bartlesville, numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Ivaughn and daughter Teresa.
