Lucy was born January 29, 1891 in Killeen, Texas to John and Augusta (Admike) Mierzwik. Her parents had been born in Poland (though the area was one that went back and forth between Germany and Poland, and some documents say Germany and others Poland).
In 1910, Lucy was living with her family on a farm near Killeen, Texas.
She married Richard T. McEvoy, and in 1930, she and her family were farming in Boomer Township, Pottawattamie County, Iowa. They had been blessed with four children: Augusta, Timothy, Daniel, and James.
She died in 1957, and is buried with her beloved husband in the Catholic cemetery, Mt. Carmel.
