Delmar worked as a maintenance engineer for 20 years at Kansas Wesleyan University and 10 years at the City-County Building. He was a sports fan, enjoying attending games at Sacred Heart, Kansas Wesleyan, Kansas State, Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Cathedral parish.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth, in 2008, three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three sons, David, Jerome and Daniel; four daughters, Camilla Hamilton, Teresa Forbes, Cecilia Aslin, and Cynthia Bonham; a sister, Velda; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
