Woodmansee, Joseph 1819 - 1899
Joseph Woodmansee, "Tully, was born in La Fayette, Nov. 28, 1819, one of four children of Joseph and Hannah (Mumford) Woodmansee, both of Rhode Island. His parents came to La Fayette in 1817, and to Tully in 1822, where they settled on the farm, then an unbroken wilderness, now owned by Osborn L. Woodmansee, son of our subject. Here the father died in 1870, and his wife in 1872. Joseph was reared on the farm now owned by his son, educated in the public schools, and has always followed farming, owning at present a fine tract of 300 acres. In 1849 he married Lovancia, daughter of Ira Burroughs, one of the early settlers of Otisco, and they purchased the farm where they now reside.
