He married Martha Adelaide McMillan March 9, 1865, and fathered Edith K. (b. 05/15/70 - married Orrin Field), David McMillan (b. 01/04/72), Guy Reynolds (b. 12/24/73), Carolyn Grace (b. 05/22/75 - married Walter Dale Goodwin), Laura Cornelia (b. 08/12/77 - married Frederick Figert and George P. Martin), and William Clarence (b. 07/03/80).
In 1880, he lived with his family in Falls Church, Fairfax County, Virginia, moved to Shawnee, Kansas ca. 1885, and resided in Iowa by 1910.
Martha Adelaide died in 1900, and he married Mary Rushlow La Mountain September 7, 1911, in Marshall, Iowa.
