George Cameron Osborn was born in Jackson township, Putnam County, Indiana. He moved with his parents into Franklin township near Carpentersville in 1860, where he lived until 1896. At this time George, together with his father and mother moved to Roachdale, where he spent the remainder of his days.

At age 19, George united with the Presbyterian Church of Carpentersville and was a faithful member of that church until he transferred his membership to the Presbyterian Church at Roachdale. He loved his church and had an abiding faith in the teachings of the Gospel. He loved the companionship of his friends and had a kindly interest in all the people he knew.

George passed away quietly on Tuesday morning, January 28, 1908, in the 53rd year of his life. Funeral services were held at his residence at 2 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by his pastor, the Rev. G.L. Gutchard.
