Idalen P. Mruk of Gurnee, IL passed away peacefully April 13, 2015 at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha, WI. Ida was born on September 4, 1936 in New Braunfels, TX where she grew up on a farm and attended school in a one room schoolhouse. She met her husband Robert J. Mruk at Gruene Dance Hall while he was stationed at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. They were married on February 4, 1956. She moved to North Chicago, IL in 1957. She attended Holy Family Church in North Chicago. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by husband, Robert J. Mruk, her parents, Herbert and Idalen Bading, siblings Clifford Bading, Lorenz Bading and Helna Schulz, many dear brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

She is survived by five daughters, Diane Hilty (Bill), Debbie Lewis(John), Donna Chrapkowski (John), Denise Petoskey, and Dawn Batteau (fiance Bob Pappano), Grandchildren, Bill Jr (Karen) Hilty, Rob (fiancé Tammy) Hilty, Craig (Kaitlyn) Hilty, Kevin (Caitlin) Lewis, Matt Lewis, Melissa Lewis, John (Taryn) Chrapkowski, Jennifer (Matt) Svendsen, Jessica Chrapkowski, Laura Mruk, Ronald and Brandon Petoskey, Allison, Brandt and Kaitlyn Batteau, Great grandchildren, Brayden, Dylan and Eva Hilty, Kayla, Alex and Rylan Chrapkowski, Nate and Jakob Svendsen, Brother-in-laws, Jim Mruk and Cliff Pearson, Sister-in-law, Charleen Mruk and many dear nieces and nephews locally and in Texas.
Our family would like to Thank the staff at Rolling Hills Nursing Home in Zion, IL for all your hard work and the outstanding, kind staff at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 18th from 9 to 11 am at the Gurnee Salata FuneralHome, 4190 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee, IL 60031. A memorial service will follow at 11 am with burial at Highland Memorial Park, 33100 N. Hunt Club Road, Libertyville, IL. In lieu of flowers, please feel free donate to the Alzheimer Association or NAMI of Lake County in Ida’s memory.
