She was a big gray short hair cat. I named her Sage and my dad later changed her name to Little Bit. She was known as Little Bit most her life. When she was a kitten, she would chase me around the house biting at my toes. My dad and his girlfriend fell in love with her and that is how she went to live with them until the last few years of her life.

She was born in the Spring of 2002. I found her mother, Zoe in front of my home around February or March of 2002, it was a cold night and she was brought in and immediately became mine. A few weeks later, she was at the vet to be fixed and I got a call from my vet that it was two late, she was pregnant with 3-5 kittens. Oh well, they would became mine too.

The morning Zoe had her kittens I could tell something was up, so I rushed off to a meeting and hurried home as fast as I could. Two gray kittens were already born. I always thought that they were Sage (later Lil' Bit) and her brother Hemmie, just a hunch, I never really knew as they looked so much alike. Shortly after I arrived home another little gray kitten was born, followed by a snowball white kitten named Ashton. The other gray kitten was named Bailey. Lil' Bit went to live with my father and his girlfriend Colleen and her cat Aaron. I kept the rest.

Little Bit came back to live with me around 2003 - 2004 and she had to stay in my Dads room since her siblings would gang up on her. Once they attacked her and she was in the hospital for a week with puncture wounds. I don't know why they never got along. In 2010-2011 she actually fell out of a 2nd story window. My dad said he looked out and saw her just sitting on the ground on top of the window screen just a little dazed. She really lived her nine lives and in seven houses!

Another funny story my dad told me. He had ordered pizza delivery. Once it arrived he set the box on the table, he had opened the lid a little to just look at it then went to get a drink. He said less than a minute later he comes back and a whole piece was missing and it was on the floor with her eating it! She was a chunky girl!

Another day I remember her getting out of the house and I was so worried about her, I walked around the neighborhood for hours looking for her. That night before I went to bed I decided to look outside and she was just sitting outside on the screen porch as if it wasn't any big deal!

She came back to live with me around 2011. This time for good. I did still have to keep her separated from her mom and siblings. She also didn't like my mother, she would hiss at her every time she looked at her. My mom wouldn't hurt a fly but Little Bit thought she was evil! Little Bit was the last surviving of her siblings although her mom Zoe was still living at the time of her passing.

A couple of weeks ago she lost a toe nail and had a large sore on her face so we took her to the vet. She was so feisty that they really couldn't exam her. (She once bit a hole in my hand when I was watching her when my dad was out of town!). They gave her some medicine and told me to bring her back in a few weeks if it wasn't better and they would have to sedate her for an exam.

We thought she was getting better but two days ago she begin hiding in corners. Last night before she died, she came out and sat on Brian's lap for over an hour getting lots of love.

The next morning we take her to the vet and they sedate her and find she is full of cancer. At noonish, the vet called and said the nail she had lost was from a tumor pushing through her toe. Her mouth was also full of cancer which was causing the sores to come through her skin. The vet said the kindest thing to do was to let her go and that a million dollars couldn't help her. I wasn't really expecting it as I thought that they would be able to help her. I never guessed she wouldn't be coming home.

She really was a good girl and never gave us any trouble. She only bit me that one time because I wasn't so familiar with her at the time. She just didn't like people handling her. Probably because of all the cancer. She just wanted to sit on your lap on her terms. I miss her already and I did love her a bunch.
