Tried to find Guilford and Catherine in the 1840 Pitt County Census to no avail. They show as of 1850. Catherine and Guilford had 6 children by the 1860 Census: Ann Mariah, Absley, Mary Frances, Catharine ("Kate"), and twins John Robert and Laura J. They lived at Hanrahan Corner.
It seems that there was another Guilford Harris in the same immediate Hanrahan area, 1832-1912. Can't find that he was related to this Guilford. Ongoing research to find this Guilford's (1810-1904) parents.
Guilford (and Catherine) were buried in Jackson Cemetery because 2 of their daughters, Absley and Laura, married 2 Jackson brothers. Guilford was on the 1900 Census, age 91, living with his spinster daughter Ann Mariah. The latter is seen on the 1920 Census living with her brother John Robert and in 1930 living with her widowed sister-in-law. I can't locate Ann Mariah's burial.
