She was born in Darke County, OH on January 19, 1932 to the late Simon E. and Ola Mae Coblentz Rhoades.
Wretha shared the love for the Lord through her daily living. She became a member of the Pleasant Valley Church at a very young age. Her parents and their three children gave musical programs at many area churches. Wretha played the marimba, accordion and sang. Years later, she and her sister shared music at nursing homes, mother & daughter banquets and churches. She continued to play her marimba just three days before her illness.
She loved children. She taught elementary school for 32 years retiring in June of 1987. On her 80th birthday, she received a favorite teacher letter from one of her former first grade students. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren loved to stay at her house. They did baking, crafts, games and learning activities.
Wretha graduated from Jackson, Ohio High School and Ball State University. She earned her Master's degree from Wright State University.
It was in High school that she met Gerald Price whom she married on August 16, 1952. They had over sixty enjoyable years together. Wretha and Gerald spent many retirement winters at Palms Estates in Lorida, FL. Wretha made many friends and enjoyed reading. She also made many greeting cards and sent them to encourage others. She loved crafts and through the years she hand quilted a quilt for each of her grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Gerald Price, three children; J. Ken Price of Indianapolis, IN, Mark T. (Debbie) Price of Greenville, OH and Gwen R. Mays of Dayton, OH. Grandchildren; Casey M. (Derrick) Deininger, Steven A. (Janene) Price, Gabriel, Rachel, Michael and Joelle Lochtefeld and Aleah Price. Great Grandchildren; Austin and Gauge Price.
