He was married for 68 years. His wife Elizabeth, died last Wednesday.
Survivors are six sons, Louis, Collyer, Otto, Hays, Fidelis, Plainville, Ben, LaCrosse, Victor, Park, and Elmer, Victoria; two daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Theckla) Haas, Antonino, Mrs. Alvin W. (Irene) Dinkel, Victoria; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Baier, Houston, Tex.; 41 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, one half-sister, two brothers and one half-brother.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Fidelis Church, Victoria, with burial in the church cemetery. The Knights of Columbus, of which Berens was an honorary member, will join in the parish wake service at 8 p.m. Thursday at Cline’s Mortuary, Victoria. Friends may call at Cline’s from 7:30 p.m. Tuesday until service time.
