Herman H. Berens, 82, lifetime Victorian community resident, died today at St. John’s Rest Home, Victoria.
Born May 27, 1883 in Victoria, he was a retired farmer.
Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. William Bieker, Mrs. Alvin R. Sander, both of Victoria, Mrs. Anton Pfannenstiel, Mrs. Leo Klaus, both of Hays, Mrs. Paul Bricker, Gorham, Mrs. Julius Leiker, Flaxton, N.D.; five sons, Severin, Russell, Jake of Russell, Julius, Farmington, N.M., Robert, Trenton, Neb., Arthur, Gorham; a brother, Ulrick, Victoria; two sisters, Mrs. Theodore Tholen, Grinnell, Mrs. Mimmie Baier, Kinsley; 42 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren.
His wife, Anna Marie, two sons and two daughters preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. K. of C. prayer hour will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday. D. of I. prayer hour will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Fidelis Church, Victoria. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Cline’s Mortuary, Victoria, until time of service.
