Actor. One of "Ingmar Bergman's actors", and acted in many of the famous director's film- and theatre productions. He was educated at The Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm 1935-1939. During the 1940s he was touring Sweden with Riksteatern and was then connected to the city theatres of Malmö and Stockholm. From 1969 and on to his death he was engaged by the Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm. He acted in some 30 films, among them "Ungt Blod" (1943), "Barabbas" (1953), "Änglar, finns dom?" (1961), "Mannen som slutade röka" (1972), "Hallo Baby" (1976) and "Picassos Äventyr" (1978). He was awarded with a Guldbagge (the foremost Swedish film award) for Best Actor in 1976 (Hallo Baby), and also received the O'Neill Scollarship that same year.
