RAVENNA — Lavern Curtis, 75, of Ravenna died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, at Ravenna Good Samaritan Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Ravenna with the Rev. Martin Egging officiating. Burial will be at Highland Park Cemetery in Ravenna.
Visitation will be from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday at the church with wake services at 6 p.m.
Rasmussen Funeral Home in Ravenna is in charge of arrangements.

Lavern Curtis was born Aug. 10, 1939, in Ogallala to Harry and Mae (Smedra) Curtis. He was educated in rural grade schools in Sherman County and attended Ashton High School. He graduated from Loup City High School in 1957.
He worked for Nebraska Bag Co. in Omaha for 12 years and for Briggs Transportation in Omaha. He was in the U.S. Army Reserve. He worked part time at the Dew Drop Inn in Ravenna for several years.
Lavern was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and was a past member of the South Omaha Eagles. He enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool and bowling, and he was an avid sports fan.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Don and Donna Curtis of Ravenna; and sisters and brother-in-law, Joan Summers of Austin, Texas, and Kathleen and Thomas Sobetski of Omaha.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
