Monday, May 7, 1990RED CLOUD - Anna Mae Berry, 86, of Red Coud died Sunday, May 6, at the Webster County Hospital at Red Cloud. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church at Red Cloud. The Rev. Earl Reed will officiate. Burial will be in Downs Cemetery in Downs, Kan. Visitation will be until service time at Simonson-Williams Funeral Home in Red Cloud. Memorials are suggested to the hospital or the church.Mrs. Berry was born July 18, 1903, in Lynnville, Iowa, to Cornelius and Anna VanderHavel Edell. She married LeRoy Berry in 1925 at Downs, Kan., where the couple operated a grocery store for many years. In 1957, they moved to Topeka where they continued in the grocery business. Mr. Berry died in July 1961. In 1966, Mrs. Berry moved to Red Cloud, where she was cashier at the L and J Variety Store until her retirement in 1979. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. June Cross of Hays, Kan.; three sons, Daryl of Emporia, Kan., Lyle of Red Cloud, and Kenneth of Grand Island; 13 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
