Eliza Herrin full name was Elizabeth Lucinda Reddick Herrin. Although she is listed as Jesse H. Herrin and Permelia F. Russell Herrin's child she was Jesse H. Herrin's first wife. Elizabeth Lucinda Reddick and Jesse H. Herrin were married Oct. 30, 1859 in Lawrence Township, Marion Co., Indiana. Elizabeth Lucinda was born Mar. 2, 1840, her parents were Elisha Reddick and Elizabeth Johnson Reddick. She died Dec. 18, 1862 of Spotted Fever while her husband Jesse H. Herrin was away during the Civil War.
Elizabeth Lucinda Reddick Herrin and Jesse H. Herrin had two children, Aldus E. Herrin b.1860 d.1891, Fernando J. Herrin b.1862 d.1915. The boys Aunt Elizabeth Jane Thomas Reddick and Uncle John Newton Reddick cared for the two boys until Jesse H. Herrin returned home from the Civil War. John Newton Reddick was Elizabeth Lucinda Reddick Herrin's brother. Jesse H. Herrin married Permelia F. Russell Nov. 3, 1864 and they raised the two boys along with their children.
