Lewis Sanders, 68, Dies in Hospital --

Lewis W. Sanders, a Winchester farmer, died last Friday in Baptist Hospital, Nashville, after a short illness. He was 68.

The funeral was Monday morning at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Officiants were the Rev. Howard Springer and the Rev. John Bloodworth. Burial was in Franklin Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Sanders, a Texas native, was born January 8, 1903. His parents were Sherman and Martha Jane Cornelison Sanders. He was a member of the Bethel Methodist Church.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Clara Sims Sanders; one son, L. C. Sanders, Winchester; two daughters, Mrs. John Conser, Jr. and Mrs. Bob Merritt, Winchester; two brothers, Charlie Sanders, Shamrock, Texas, and Ben Sanders, Stroud, Oklahoma; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Bobo, Cushing, Oklahoma, Mrs. Ruby Henshhaw, Stroud, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Ross Waynescott, Huntland, Tennessee; and two grandchildren.
