Mecy Ada Jessup Leiser, age 90, of Austin Texas, passed away October 30, 2014. Mecy was born March 13, 1924 in North Carolina to Elbert and Alpha May Jessup. Her family moved to Virginia where she attended business college. She worked as a clerk for the Navy during WWII. There she met her loving husband of 68 years, Arthur Leiser Jr. They married on October 14, 1944.

Mecy and Art moved to Houston where she served for many years as the pastor's secretary at Bellaire United Methodist Church. She followed Art's career to Austin in 1972 where she worked as an Administrative Officer at First City National Bank. Mecy was a long time member of the original Austin Heritage Society and of Westwood Country Club. She and Art were 42 year members of First United Methodist Church.

Mecy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Arthur Leiser Jr., her parents, her brother, and sisters.

She is survived by her beloved sister and only living sibling Doris Delano; a special niece, Evelyn Cummins (Nieto) and a number of nieces and nephews and their children, all of Virginia.

Graveside services will be held Monday, Nov 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Mecy's wonderful caregivers from Querencia and Visiting Angels. They ask in lieu of flowers that donations be made to First United Methodist Church of Austin, Texas; or the charity of your choice.
