MCLEANSVILLE - Mr. Robert "Bob" Lee Land, 74, went home to be with his Lord on May 1, 2011, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Stevens Memorial Baptist Church with Reverend Dennis Tabor and Dr. Mark Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.
Bob was born on March 23, 1937 in Guilford County to the late Harvey and Vora Newman Land. He was a faithful member of Stevens Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and loved singing with the Redeemed Voices Quartet. He also proudly served his country in the US Air Force.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and Harvey Land, Jr., and one sister, Judy Chapmon.
Survivors include his wife, Mae Busick Land of the home; two daughters, Sherri Smith (Mark) of Hickory and Karen Brown (Mark) of Graham; one brother, Clyde Land (Linda) of Climax; three sisters, Delorce Land of Julian, Marie Burchett of Summerfield, and Catherine Williams (Henry) of Ellerbe; five grandchildren, Abby and Adam Smith, Justin, Caleb and Natalie Brown.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Stevens Memorial Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Stevens Memorial Baptist Church, 3001 N. Church St., Greensboro, NC 27405 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.
