"Jacob Z. Smith, who lives one mile north of Henrietta, was instantly killed about 11:30 o'clock A.M. on Saturday. He was driving his team over the railroad crossing one half mile north of Henrietta, when the tongue of the wagon pulled the bridle off one of the horses, when they became frightened and ran off, throwing Mr. Smith out of the wagon and breaking his neck. Deceased was a well known farmer and was about 75 years of age."
