The following from Find A Grave contributor Matt & Kara Underwood:

Cholula Issaquena Bates was the daughter of James Ellison Bates and Alethe Ann (Letheann or Letha) Frith. She was born 16 Jan 1850 in Amite Co., MS, and died 14 Sep 1936 in Meridian, Lauderdale Co., MS. Cholula was sometimes called "Calula". She married Charles McKnight Dunn on 30 Jan 1867 in Liberty, Amite Co., MS. Charles was the son of Joseph Sylvester Dunn and Mary Jane McKnight.

Charles and Cholula had several children, one of whom was James Ellison Bates Dunn (15 Nov 1877 - 27 Aug 1904). James had married Viola Gertrude Morgan (20 Mar 1873 - 14 Jan 1911), and they had 4 children who were taken in and raised by their grandparents Charles and Cholula Dunn. These grandchildren's names were: James Leslie Dunn, Wilhelmina (Winnie or Minnie) Dunn, William Charles Dunn, and the youngest, Theodore Lamar "Ted" Dunn. Young Ted became fascinated by his grandfather Charles M. Dunn's stories of the Civil War, and determined to make the Army his career. Ted got an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, graduating in 1925. Cholula's grandson made her proud, and Ted went on to become one of the Airborne pioneers of the United States Army, eventually becoming the first commander of the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment in 1942.
