Sanford Lee McClaflin was borm June 20, 1854 in Galipolice, Ohio, and died November 30, 1924, at his home near Renfrow, aged 71 years. He was the son of Mr. & Mrs. Giles McClaflin. On December 14, 1879 he was married to Wealthy Ione Robbins in Republic City, Kansas and to this union was born ten children, namely; Alex McClaflin. Forgan, Oklahoma; Ella Nutter, Sellman, Oklahoma; Clara Pontius, Curry, Missouri; Floyd McClaflin, Cleveland, Oklahoma; Jim McClaflin, Idalou, Texas; Perry, Fred, Elmer, Roy McClaflin and Fern Peters, Renfrow, Oklahoma. In addition to these he is survived by 22 grandchildren, two sisters, two brothers, six half brothers and five half sisters.
Sandford Lee McClaflin came from Ohio, to Kansas and from there took part in therun when the Cherokee strip was opened. He lived for many years in the vicinity of Renfrow and was a good and useful citizen.
Funeral services were held at Springdale church, December 2,1925, at 2 p. m. and burial made in the Springdale Cemetery.
