SPOUSE: Ada married Federico Ponce "Fred" Haddix. He was born April 7, 1912 in the Philippines and died Oct. 20, 1985 in Los Angeles County, CA at age 73.
Ada and her family re-patriated to the United States aboard the USS Eberle (a troop transport ship) shortly after the Philippines was liberated in early 1945. The ship departed Manila on April 10, 1945 and docked at the Port of Los Angeles at San Pedro, CA on May 2, 1945. World War II was not yet over, and the voyage took 3 weeks as the ship had to avoid mines and enemy submarines.
The family remained in the Southern CA area where Fred died in 1985. Ada followed him into Eternal Life 21 years later. They are buried together at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, CA.
