Edward Parrish, 98, of Independence Twp., passed away on October 27, 2014. He was born in Independence Twp., on May 5, 1916, a son of the late Benjamin F. and Myrtle (Holmes) Parrish.

Mr. Parrish served his country during World War II with the Navy, as a Ship Fitter First Class. He was a retired iron worker, with the Local Iron Workers Union #3. He also was a life member of the VFW-Center Twp., the Hookstown American Legion, and a life member of the Five Points Hunting Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn (Irons) Parrish; his daughter, Janet E. Parrish, and siblings, Florence Mutkus, Dorothy Solkovy, Benjamin F. Parrish Jr., Herbert Parrish, Helen Mihalik, Delmeer Parrish and Hazel Smith.

He is survived by his children, Edward D. (Carmela) Parrish Sr., Bobbi J. (John) Weaver, William L. (Violet) Parrish and Kathe L. Parker; his nine grandchildren, Edward D. Parrish Jr., Amy L. Parrish (Sean Daily), Tami J. Evans, Bradley J. Gibson, Aaron D. (Miranda) Gibson, Stacy R. Parrish, William F. (Christina) Parrish, Carrie L. (Joe) Balough and Daniel J. Parker; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grand-child. He is also survived by his brother, Everett (Jean) Parrish, and step-grandchildren, Stacey M. (John) Murphy and Brandon Weaver.

Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the HUNTSMAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES OF ALIQUIPPA, www.huntsmanfuneralhomes.com, 2345 Mill St., where a funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m., with Pastor Lenny Peeler officiating. Interment with military honors by the Beaver County Special Unit will be conducted at the John Anderson Memorial (Service Creek), Raccoon Twp.
