Obituary for her husband below:
Former Sheriff C. MAX MALOTT, one of Hagerstown's best known citizens, died suddenly at 1:15 o'clock this morning at the Washington County Hospital. He had been stricken with a heart attack at his home, 48 East Avenue, shortly before his removal to the hospital, aged 65. He was born and reared in Williamsport and was the son of John S. and lydia (Rend) Malott.
He served one term as sheriff and in late years had been employed by Fairchild Aircraft as a guard. He was a member of Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church, the R. Paul Smith and Clever Bible Class of that Sunday school, and also was a member of the Jr.O.U.A.M., of this city. Mr. Malott was a staunch Democrat and had filed as a candidate for Judge of the Orphans Court, subject to the September primary. He had taken an active part for many years in the party affairs and was recognized as a leader in the Fourth Ward of the city of of Precinct 21-2.
Surviving are his wife, Maude E. (Bair) Malott; father, John S. Malott; sisters, Mrs. Valdo Hill and Mrs. Nellie Conklin, both of this city; brother, Webster, Williamsport; and a granddaughter, Patricia Ann Hebb.
Services were held at the Suter Funeral Home; interment in Rose Hill Cemetery.
