George K. Clark, 67, of 215 Conda St., Monticello, died at 3 p.m. Saturday in White County Memorial Hospital here where he had been a patient one day. He had been in failing health for some time.

Mr. Clark had recently retired after a 25-year teaching career, having taught at Paoli and Goodland and 13 years in the Twin Lakes School Corp. He taught English and public speaking at Twin lakes Junior High School and also coached cross country sports.

Born in Brook, he was married in 1929 to Ruby Sargison who survives. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Rotary Club in Monticello, the Masonic Lodge and Order of Eastern Star in Kentland, the Boswell American Legion and the Scottish Rite and Shrine of Indianapolis.

Surviving with the widow are a daughter, Mrs. Louis Hurrie Of Greenfield; a son, James of Columbia, Mo.; a foster daughter, Mrs. Lucille Deno of Rensselaer; a sister, Mrs. Keith Nicholson of Danville, Ill., and three brothers, Lloyd of Brook, Raymond of Syracuse and John of South Whitley.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Monticello. Masonic rites there 8 p.m. Monday. Body will lie in state at University Methodist Church from noon until funeral service there at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Donald Ashley officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Brook.
