Son of Robert and Lydia Clements . . . John (bap. 22 October 1620 - 1659) who married on 1 June 1648, Sarah Osgood; this family was lost at sea in 1659. . . . [brother of] . . . Mary (1637 - 27 October 1710) who married, on 15 November 1653, John Osgood . . . [John's brother] Robert was a cooper by trade. In 1658 he returned to England and Ireland . . . to act as guide for his brother John. Their plans were interrupted, however, when the ship upon which they were passengers was captured by Spaniards. They were held captive for several weeks. John Clements and his family [wife and three of their four daughters] were lost at sea soon thereafter and Robert returned to Massachusetts. . . .
